Technique

Anesthesia

The areas to treat are filled up with a special anesthetic solution that diminishes the blood loss during the intervention. This procedure can be done under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. The type of anesthesia is discussed with the patient, since there are people who enter the operating room without no fear, and other that find it like a disturbing experience.

Duration of the intervention

The duration is variable, depending on the amount of areas and volume to treat, from 1 to 4 hs.  

Recovery

The great advantage of the LipoSelection® is a shorter recovery period compared to usual procedures. Usually is an ambulatory Procedures with less incidence of hematomas, postoperative pain, hiperpigmentation of the skin, and changes of sensitivity.

Will there be scars?

Incisions that are made in the skin are smaller than 1 cm, and are located in strategic zones so that they are hidden. In the first weeks before the Procedures these scars will be red, and will be blanching with time, until taking a similar color to the rest of the skin.

Are there side effects?

Although this operation does not have, practically, any type of side effects can occur some cases in which is numbness or any kind of discomfort in the treated zone lasts longer than usual. Nevertheless, in the evaluation that will be done in the first visit, the doctor will tell you all the possible complications.

Results

The Liposelection® by ultrasound allows to obtain more satisfactory results in areas where the results used to be poor (arms, neck, back). The ultrasound stimulates the collagen fibers formation in the skin, producing retraction of the treated areas, and thus a best modeling.

The result of the operation is spectacular, since the fat disappears during the surgical session. To obtain the same effect without Procedures you would need, generally, a long period of diet, reason why in many cases the intervention has sense.

But the natural thing, after practiced Liposelection®, you must reconsider your habits regarding feeding and a minimum level of exercise, so that the fat does not return to be accumulated.

Post Op Follow up

In our organization the strictest norms of quality are followed, that go beyond the intervention. For that reason detailed postoperative controls are made, so the patient feels safe and accompanied. There are a number of consultations, to check that the process follows the natural course.

The first postoperative consultation usually is made on the following day and in her the first cure takes upon maturity. As of that day, the recovery process is followed in detail and the definitive discharge does not occur until a year after the intervention.
