The shape of the Gluteal region

The implants are similar to mammary but with the some particular characteristics such as greater density silicone cohesive gel and a thicker elastomer shell. This type of implant is tougher than the mammary ones and, obviously, much more resistant, designed precisely to fit the region where it will be implanted. There are different shapes, profiles and coverings: round and oval, low or high, and the outer cover can be smooth or textured.

Depending on the desired shape the doctor will recommend the use of one or the other.

The dimensions of the butt (high, wide region and projection) are a fundamental point in establishing volume and type of implant to be used to obtain the desired result.

The Procedures lasts generally less than two hours during which a sub muscular pocket is made where the implants will be placed. Finally the incision will be closed with points and a micro porous tape will be placed.

How will I feel after the Procedures?

You will experience a sensation of tension while the skin adapts to the new size of the butt. The results will be visible immediately, although with time and the relaxation of tissues the new shape and volume will be more natural.

The submuscular location reduces the risks of the contractile fibrous capsule (the hardening of the scar tissue that covers the implant) that can make it evident giving a poor esthetic aspect. The postoperative care is quite simple; you will need a compressive garment during the first weeks. You will be able to return to his activities some days after the intervention, having to avoid the efforts by three weeks like minimum.

In the consultation specific indications for your individual case can be necessary. If some unusual sign appears in the postoperative period, as persistent fever, remarkable swelling of one or both sides, etc. you will have to contact immediately your surgeon.

Which can be the complications?

All surgical technique entails the risk of complications like undesired effects of the anesthesia, infections, swelling, hematoma, pain, alterations in the healing, etc.

Buttocks implants have specific potential complications such as:

•  Contracture of the scar tissue around implants (contractile fibrous capsule)

•  Traumatic rupture of implants

•  No more intramuscular injections in the buttocks (the implant will be damaged)

•  Possibility of Procedures of revision or replacement

Recovery

The recovery is very fast and the postoperative as a whole is easily tolerated, since the annoyances caused by the intervention are not important.

Most of patients can return to normal tasks after two weeks. Even so, the surgeon will recommend not to make activities that require physical effort during the first weeks after the operation because the treated zone undergoes a certain inflammation, that it is reduced gradually, to disappear completely to the third month.

They will be left marks?

The incisions are made between both butts not being visible at all.
