Am I a good candidate for Botox®?

Facial wrinkles appear as a result of the age and the sun damage and tobacco smoking among other factors. But there are other types of wrinkles called " expression wrinkles " that appear by the repeated contraction of mimic muscles of the face.

What is Botox®?

BOTOX ® (type A botulinic Toxin) is a drug produced by the bacterium that produces the botulism.

How does it work?

The toxin blocks the neuromuscular plate (unions between nerve and muscle that allows the muscular contraction).

Blocking these unions causes the muscle to relax, reducing its contraction capacity.

By carefully choosing the muscles to treat, the physician weakens only the wrinkle-producing muscles while preserving natural facial expression.
